When you first install Windows, it also downloads the Security Application & Tools add-on into your system. The program is an essential component for the Windows system, and you should always install it if you want to make your system more secure. If you have the correct version of the Security Application & Tools software, you will be able to protect your system against many harmful viruses, Trojans, spyware, malicious codes, and other forms of infections that may invade your computer system.
However, Windows Defender does not automatically update itself as the security application and tools are only updated once a month. Since it updates itself automatically, you will have to manually download the latest version of the application and install it in your system. This can be done by opening the Control Panel, clicking on Add or Remove Programs, and then selecting the Security Application & Tools. Click on Install and then on the next window that asks you to confirm whether you want to proceed with the installation, click Yes. A new window will appear asking you to install the downloaded software. Just click on the Install button and then on the next window that asks you to confirm the installation process, click the Continue button.
You can also use the Add/Remove Programs tool to remove the downloaded application. Just click on Start, All Programs, Add or Remove Programs, and then select the downloaded software. Select the applet and then click on the Remove button. This can be done in the Control Panel or the Add/Remove Programs utility by pressing the appropriate key combination.
